• a refugee in baltic

about 2 months ago, i got 'kicked out' from my own crib. not because i didn't pay rent or anything. but it was because my apartment needed some serious cleaning from a professional cleaning service. truth was, it wasn't that messy.. really. but my landlord wanted it to look as polished as possible since she would do a lot of viewings for possibly new owners. in other words, she wanted to sell my apartment ... and we'd be kicked out eventually. *sigh*

due to some tight project deadlines, i didn't plan to go out at all on that day. thought i could let the cleaner did whatever s/he needs to do while i'd be working somewhere in a corner. well... it didn't happened, because they were FIVE of them! it looked like as if my apartment was being raided by a cleaner squad. there was no chance for me to work peacefully anywhere in my own apartment. so, yeah.. i had no choice than just let them did the job, while i was trying to think in which place i should be spending my time in the next 8 hours [yes, that was the amount of time they needed to clean my super micro 'mansion'. geezz.... ]

i finally ended up at the Baltic museum that morning. i actually just went there 2 days before and pretty much had seen all of their exhibitions. but i couldn't think of any other places to go. besides, Baltic has this book store with a great selection of design books which you probably can't find anywhere else in Newcastle. i spent 4 hours browsing the books, sipping capuccino in their coffee shop, while daydreaming, looking at the Erwin Wurm sculpture outside, thinking about my projects and of course taking some pictures.
